Cheat’s strawberry creme brûlée

These cheat's desserts are made with bought double thick custard, so they're on the table in less than 20 minutes.

4 Ingredients
~ 900g tub double thick vanilla custard
~ 125g strawberries, hulled, thinly sliced
~ 155g (3/4 cup) caster sugar
~ 2 tsp finely chopped pistachios

Step 1

Divide the custard among four 1 cup (250ml) capacity heatproof dishes. Top with strawberries

Step 2

Place the sugar and 2 tbsp of water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Cook, without stirring, for 1-2 minutes or until sugar has dissolved. Cook for 7-8 minutes or until dark golden. Remove from the heat and allow bubbles to subside.

Step 3

Carefully spoon the toffee over the strawberries. Sprinkle with pistachios. Set aside for 5 minutes to cool slightly before serving.
